Royal Inland Hospital Clinical Services Building
The Clinical Service Building provides space for several outpatient services, the UBC medical school program, and a new lecture theatre, as well as improved vehicle and pedestrian access to the hospital. Kane served as the project’s Commissioning Authority, Measurement & Verification lead, as well as the LEED Project Manager.
As the Commissioning Authority, Kane provides reviews of designs, specifications, and shop drawings. Site visits were completed during construction to complete quality assurance checks on equipment installations and start-ups. Towards the end of construction, Kane directed and witnessed functional performance testing on the building’s energy consuming systems; our experience and expertise in building controls added tremendous value at this phase. Kane also produced all commissioning documentation as required by the CAGBC for the LEED submittal.
