One of the largest single projects currently under construction in Downtown Vancouver, the Burrard Place development would see the creation of a significant landmark on the Burrard Street corridor. Parq Resort is a new 675,000 sq ft development situated between Vancouver’s Yaletown and Gastown. Kane provided LEED Fundamental and Enhanced Commissioning and Project Management services for this exciting development, featuring two luxury resort hotels, a conference centre, restaurants, retail space, and a new home for the Edgewater Casino.
WL Construction (owner, builder, and operator) and its tenant the BC Oil and Gas Commission have achieved LEED® Canada NC 2009 Gold certification at the BC Oil & Gas Commission office location in Fort St. John.
The office space is located at 6534 Airport Road and has a floor area of approximately 6476 square meters on two levels. The project earned 66 points, including 18 points for Optimize Energy Performance and all 10 points for Water Efficiency.
The MacMillan Bloedel building located at 1075 West Georgia is a multi tenanted 26 floor commercial office building designed by Arthur Erickson and Geoffrey Massey in the mid 1960s. Located at the corner of Georgia and Thurlow Street in downtown Vancouver, this building provides tenants with walking distance access to the skytrain, hotels, restaurants, shopping, fitness centres, and various other amenities.
Port Place Mall – Building D is one of First Capital Realty’s most recent projects. Located in Nanaimo, this new two-storey building will host a mix of office, retail and restaurants. The project is a stand-alone building located at the north end of the property of Port Place Mall. The project has a gross floor area of 49,230 ft2 (4,573m2).
Located in close proximity to the Vancouver International Airport, the 35 acre Airport Executive Park, managed by Bentall Kennedy (Canada), includes 13 office buildings with multiple tenants. Building 7 takes a prominent spot on the road leading to the other buildings.

The BC Oil and Gas Commission (Commission) achieved LEED® Canada Platinum CI 1.0 certification at their Dockside Green office location in Victoria.
The office features heating from a biomass plant, treated wastewater for toilet flushing, opening windows maximizing natural ventilation and large windows offering high levels of natural light supplemented with sensor lighting to reduce unnecessary electricity consumption. All building materials and finishes contain low volatile organic compound (VOC) and no urea-formaldehyde. Furniture systems are cradle to cradle, and only green cleaning products are used. Staff also participates in the Dockside Green recycling and composting programs.
The office space is part of the Dockside Green Inspiration building, also known for its own LEED® Platinum certification. The Dockside Green community features on-site sewage treatment, a wastewater treatment plant and buildings designed for energy-efficiency. It is an award-winning development combining residential homes, retail outlets, office space and light industrial uses.
First Capital Realty owns the entire building located at 888 Carnarvon Street in New Westminster BC. This project consists of the fit up of a small commercial portion of the building that is being used as one of First Capital Realty’s offices. Consistent with First Capital Realty’s commitment environmental responsibility, the project team is approaching LEED certification with a high degree of energy and water efficiency and overall environmental performance.
